Traditional outreach materials can only go so far. We wanted to create something that would stop people in their tracks, invite conversation, and make school bus safety impossible to ignore. That's what inspired the Living Bus Experience: a traveling, hands-on exhibit that transforms an ordinary school bus into an immersive conversation about student safety.

The experience begins before visitors even step onboard. Window clings covering the exterior of the bus share eye-opening school bus safety statistics that build curiosity and set the stage.

Inside, the bus is transformed into a mobile museum (while remaining easily convertible back into an operational school bus) where guests walk through interactive displays that explain the risks at bus stops and the simple actions drivers can take to protect students

At the end, participants are invited to make a personal commitment by writing how they will be part of the solution on a sticky note and adding it to the side of the bus, creating a growing visual display of community support.

For longer events, the activation can also include a station where attendees write thank-you notes to local school bus drivers, reinforcing appreciation alongside education.

The Living Bus Experience was intentionally designed to be as practical as it is impactful. It requires no electrical power, sets up quickly, and can travel almost anywhere. Beyond creating the exhibit itself, we developed the implementation guides, training, and supporting materials that allow the client to deploy the experience independently in communities across the country, expanding its reach and ensuring the investment continues to deliver value long after the initial launch.
